CSTC Administrative Rules 2024

  1. The pool season begins on Memorial Day weekend and runs through Labor Day weekend.  The Board of Directors has the authority to extend or shorten the season within its sole discretion.
  2. Normal Club operating hours are 12:00pm until 9:00pm, Monday through Friday; Saturday from 10:00am to 9:00pm; and Sunday from 11:00am to 9:00pm.
  3.  If the air temperature at 9pm is 72 degrees or more, the manager may keep the pool open as long as there are a sufficient number of swimmers. If the air temperature is 68 degrees or less at any time and there are fewer than ten people in the pool, the manager may close the pool.  If the pool is closed due to inclement weather, the manager will keep sufficient staff on hand to reopen the pool as the situation may dictate.
  4. The manager or an assistant manager will be present on Club premises from 7:00am to closing, Monday through Friday; 9:30am to closing on Saturday; 10:30am to closing on Sunday.  Members should address any complaints or concerns with the manager or assistant manager on duty.
  5. Club members and their families must provide their membership number or last name to the office staff upon entering the Club.  The number will be used by Club personnel to identify individuals entering the Club premises.  Members must use the main entrance to access Club property.  All other entrances will remain locked during normal operating hours. All members and family shall make themselves available for a digital photo for use by the Club staff.  Members who do not want to have their picture taken will be denied use of Club facilities unless they show a photo ID.  Members shall also provide two phone numbers where they can be reached for emergencies or Club business.
  6. Gum is not permitted on Club premises at any time.
  7. Lost items discovered by members should be turned into the front office.  The manager shall keep valuable items until claimed.  Towels and toys will be disposed of monthly.
  8. Glassware of any kind is NOT permitted on Club premises.
  9. Trash containers are placed throughout Club grounds.  Members are encouraged to help maintain the grounds whenever possible.  Throwing refuse into the pool is forbidden and will be cause for disciplinary action in accordance with these rules.
  10. The Club does not accept responsibility for personal property or valuables.  Members are requested to leave valuables at home.
  11. The chairs and lounges are Club property and must not be mistreated.  Members should not permit their children or guests to play with the chairs.  Adults will be given priority over children if there are insufficient chairs available.  Members may bring chairs on Holiday weekends.
  12. Members and guests are permitted to use the office phone only in emergencies.  Personal phone calls will not be accepted.  Messages will be accepted and relayed when considered appropriate by the staff.
  13. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the pool.  Members or guests visibly impaired by the consumption of alcohol or any other substance shall be asked to leave and will be escorted from the Club property by the manager or assistant manager.  Said member shall be subject to further disciplinary action in accordance with these rules.  Members and guests are expected to consume alcoholic beverages in a discreet and responsible manner.  The Club does not hold a liquor license and will not provide or serve alcoholic beverages on Club property.  Only members or guests over the age of 21 years will be permitted to consume alcoholic beverages on Club property.
  14. CSTC members ages 12-14, can participate in a 45-minute orientation for an opportunity to earn their CSTC Junior Club Card, which will allow them to visit the club independently from their parents.  Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied or supervised by a parent or designated adult at all times.  For the purpose of this rule only,  an adult person will be considered a person in the ninth grade or older.  Children under 12 who attend swim team, swim lessons, tennis team or tennis lessons prior to the Club opening hours as noted above, must be picked up by a parent or designated guardian at the conclusion of the practice or lesson.  Members will not ask staff personnel to assume custody of their children at any time.
  15. The CSTC Board of Directors will not tolerate harassment or bullying of any kind.  The CSTC reserves the right to remove any member at the Board’s discretion.
  16. Disciplinary action under these rules includes, but is not limited to, immediate suspension of privileges and removal from premises.  The manager and assistant managers are authorized by the Board to suspend members from all privileges for one day subject to review by the president or administrative vice president who shall have the authority to affirm, modify or remove any assessed penalty.  The manager or assistant managers will attempt to notify the parents of any minor child who has been suspended within 24 hours of the incident.  Children under 10 years of age will be directed to remain in the pavilion area pending notification of parents.  The member shall have the right to appeal the suspension to the executive board.  The decision of the executive board shall be binding on the Club and the member and family.
  17. Pets are not permitted on Club premises at any time.  An exception will be made for Seeing Eye dogs accompanying visually challenged members or guests.
  18. A smoking/vaping policy has been enacted that prohibits all smoking/vaping inside the gates of the CSTC Club proper and permits smoking/vaping only in areas outside the gates, such as the parking lots, at such a distance from buildings and enclosed grounds that smoke does not migrate therein.
  19. The rules shall apply to ALL persons entering onto Club property.

CSTC Guest Rules 2024

  1. The charge for all guests will be $10 per person per visit.  The fee will be reduced to $5 after 5:00pm.  All guests shall be accompanied by the member who signs for the guest.  A member family may bring up to six guests who are not related to each other (friends) or one family unit per day.  A family unit is considered to be members of one household.  For the purpose of this rule, a local guest is a person residing in Mahoning, Trumbull, or Columbiana counties in Ohio.  The same local guest may come to the Club up to six times per season with no more than three visits before July 4th or three visits after the Fourth of July.
  2. Members must record the names and addresses of all guests requesting admission in the guest log at the entrance to the Club.  All fees must be paid prior to the guest entering the Club.  The Club staff may request additional identification.
  3. A babysitter and/or relative acting as a babysitter of a member’s child or guest child under the age of 12 will be permitted to enter Club premises at no charge.  All persons entering as babysitters must sign in and indicate which child or children they are watching.  Babysitters will be permitted to swim only while monitoring children’s activities in the pool.  This babysitter provision only applies when parents are not on Club premises.  The babysitter’s cell phone# and picture must be added to the member’s online profile.
  4.  Members having houseguests who do not live in the “local” area, as noted in paragraph 1 above, may register these guests to use the Club facilities during their stay.  Weekly guest passes may be purchased in advance at $20 per person per week.  Family guest passes shall be available for $50 per week for a family unit.  A family unit is considered to be members of one household.  Guests shall have full use of the pool and grounds.
  5. Current board members shall be entitled to unlimited guest passes including, local only, each season (still following the rules as stated in numbers 1-4 above) which expires in full upon leaving the Board.  The unlimited guest passes do NOT include parties or pavilion rental.
  6. Members may utilize the Club facilities for parties with non-member guests.  Specific rules governing parties and pavilion rentals are listed on the party form on the website.
  7. Grandparents of members shall be permitted access to the Club facilities throughout the season without a fee if they do not swim or play tennis.  Visits by grandparents of members will not count toward their annual visit limit if they are not swimming or playing tennis.

CSTC Pool Rules 2024

  1. Children under the age of 12, except those who have passed the water competency test (able to swim the length of the pool, or 25 meters), must be accompanied by an adult at all times.  For the purposes of this rule only, an adult is a person in the 9th grade or above.  No one under the age of 12 is to be unaccompanied.
  2.  Members and their children are encouraged to shower prior to entering the pool to swim.  The use of suntan oil should be kept to a minimum.
  3.  Sand volleyball players MUST rinse off at outdoor shower prior to entering the pool deck.  The sand volleyball court is not to be used as a children’s sandbox.
  4. Members shall refrain from conversing with lifeguards while on duty.  Members are encouraged to bring safety and pool operations matters to staff members as soon as possibles.
  5. Members or guests who have contracted or have been exposed to a communicable illness are asked not to come to the Club until recovered.
  6. Rough or boisterous play, running, pushing, fighting or objectionable language will not be tolerated.  Persons engaging in such activity will be subject to disciplinary action pursuant to these rules.
  7. Inflatable toys or balls are not permitted in the pool except on scheduled “float nights.”  Fins, masks or snorkels will be permitted at the discretion of the Staff.
  8. Children must clear the pool at 45 minutes past each hour.  The lifeguard on duty will check the pool.  One lifeguard will then remain on duty during a 15 minute adult swim  The pool will be cleared at the top of the hour to allow a complete pool check by the lifeguards.
  9. The zero entry area is meant for families and children 10 and under.  Boisterous play is prohibited and will be strictly monitored by the guards on duty for the safety of the younger children.
  10. Lane 6 in the pool will be set aside for adult swimming during all pool hours.  Children are to remain out of this lane.
  11. Only Club swim instructors and swim coaches are permitted to use the pool for fee-based lessons subject to approval of the Board of Trustees.
  12. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the pool deck at any time.
  13.  Swim diapers must be worn by any member or guest who requires a diaper.  Swim diapers must be worn while swimming in the pool during regular hours or classes.
  14. Enforcement of these rules shall be the responsibility of the manager or the assistant manager on duty.  Persons violating these rules shall be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the administrative rules.

CSTC Diving Rules 2024

  1. No diving or swimming in the diving section is permitted unless a lifeguard is in the diving chair.
  2. No swimming in the diving section is permitted while boards are in use.
  3.  Only one person is permitted on a board at a time.  Next diver must wait on the ground.
  4. Diver must go straight off the end of the board.
  5. Divers must use the appropriate ladder for each diving board.
  6. Diver must wait until the previous diver has reached the ladder before diving.
  7. Only one bounce on board is permitted.
  8. Once at the end of the board, the diver must go off.  No returning to the other end of the board is permitted.
  9. No hanging on boards is permitted.
  10. No balls or other toys on diving boards are permitted.
  11. Divers using flotation devices shall not be permitted on the diving boards or in the deep end of the pool.
  12.  Diver must be 48 inches tall to use the high diving board.

CSTC Tennis Court Rules 2024

  1. Court reservations must be made no more than 24 hours in advance of play.  Reservations will be held for ten minutes.  Players failing to appear within 10 minutes of a reserved time will forfeit the court time.
  2. The Club’s office hours are 8:00am to closing Monday through Friday; 9:30am to closing on Saturday, 10:30am to closing on Sunday.  Tennis court reservations can be made by calling the office during Club hours.
  3.  Members may sign up for one hour of singles or two hours of double play per family membership per day.  Members may only sign up as individual players.
  4. Empty courts (not reserved) are available on a first come basis.  Adults will be given priority during evenings (5:00pm and later) and weekends.
  5. Players must wear non-marking tennis shoes.  No bathing suits or cutoffs are permitted.  Players must wear a shirt at all times.
  6. Children up to 18 years of age may use the courts until 5pm.  Children sharing a court with a parent may play after 5pm on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays.
  7.  No one is permitted to be on the courts except persons playing tennis.  Parents playing tennis should not allow young children on the courts for safety reasons and in consideration of other players.
  8. Players shall observe “keep off courts” signs as posted by the staff.  The clay court surface is difficult to maintain and this rule will be strictly enforced.
  9. Players should not be disruptive to other players on the courts.  Specifically, players shall refrain from making loud noises or engaging in horseplay of any kind on or around the courts.
  10. The clay courts will be watered in the morning and in the evening.  The courts will be rolled daily.  Players shall not enter the courts if the courts are wet.
  11. Players are requested to hang the rollers used to dry the courts on the fence.
  12. If the courts are not in use, players are asked to turn off the lights.
  13.  Players utilizing the courts during normal Club hours must use the main entrance.
  14. Players utilizing personal keys to enter tennis courts after Club hours are responsible to lock the gates when leaving the courts.
  15. Only Club tennis staff professionals are permitted to use the courts for fee-based lessons.
  16. Alcoholic beverages, open beverage containers and smoking/vaping are not permitted on the courts.  Water bottles or cups are permitted.
  17. Enforcement of these rules and resolution of scheduling conflicts/disputes shall be the responsibility of the manager or assistant manager on duty.  Persons violating these rules shall be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the administrative rules.
